Benjamin Henshaw
Co-Founder
My journey has been shaped by 16 years of service in the military and fire service, working on the frontline in high-pressure, dangerous and often unpredictable environments. During that time, I gained first-hand experience of the importance of effective medical training, rapid intervention and the human impact of traumatic events.
But my understanding of trauma goes beyond my professional experience. After years of struggling with my own experiences, I understand that the impact of trauma is not always visible, and that asking for help, recognising distress and knowing how to respond can make a life-changing difference.
Those experiences have shaped my purpose and the work I am passionate about today.
My mission is simple: to prevent suicide and equip people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver life-saving interventions when emergencies arise.
I believe that everyone has the potential to make a difference, but having the confidence to act starts with the right training, education and understanding. Whether responding to a medical emergency, recognising someone in psychological distress or supporting a person experiencing a mental health crisis, knowing what to do — and having the confidence to do it — can be critical.
My aim is to turn real-world experience and lived experience into practical, meaningful training that empowers people to recognise the signs, respond effectively and help save lives when seconds count.
I am passionate about breaking down stigma, promoting suicide prevention and encouraging a more informed, compassionate approach to mental health. Because life-saving intervention isn’t just about what we do in an emergency; it’s also about recognising when someone is struggling, having the courage to start a conversation and making sure people know they are not alone.
Every life matters. Every intervention counts. And the right knowledge, delivered at the right time, can make all the difference.
That is why I do what I do.
